HAIR TALK: HOW TO RECHARGE AND REVIVE YOUR HAIR

February 22, 2018

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of L’Oréal® Paris Elvive. The opinions and text remain my own.

I get so many kind words about my hair being perfect. I’m here to chat with you about how my hair is far from perfect and that it always takes some striving and work to make anything remotely “perfect.” While I’m flattered by the compliments, I’m more proud I guess in a way. Proud that at 32 I’ve taken care of my hair along the way and have done whatever it takes to really nurture real beauty. I’ve never needed to wear extensions, but definitely have had my fair share of too many hair tool moments, dry winters, too many chlorine pool days and sunny LA days taking a toll on my hair.

L’Oréal Paris Elvive

L’Oréal® has always been a brand at the forefront of my hair game and they have really contributed (throughout the last decade) in helping me maintain my healthy locks. I’m a huge fan of preventive care in all areas of beauty – both skincare and haircare. I think it’s so important to really take care of what you have naturally so that you can maintain that sort of treasured and true beauty. Case in point – too many hot tools. I have to admit, while no one examines my hair up close, I do have dry ends and split ends from all the use of my hot tools. The crazy pressures we put on our hair to preform a certain way and look a certain way definitely has its consequences. Dry ends and split ends are only the beginning of damage. It is so crucial to take preventative measures to help aid your hair in its revival. One of my favorite products for this has to be the L’Oreal Elvive Total Repair 5 Protein Recharge Treatment ($5.99) The main objective of this product is to instantly recharge your hair and fight against 5 signs of damage! Such a huge mission to undertake! After you shampoo and condition your hair, you apply a small amount to towel dried hair. What I love most is that the product was truly made to replenish the natural elements of your hair. Our hair is primarily composed of proteins (notably alpha-keratin) and this product is a full-on protein treatment to help revive dull, dry hair and give it strength and flexibility. When I first started using this product, I noticed immediate results. My hair was super soft and felt absolutely recharged. Also, more volume! I had much more volume after using the Total Repair 5 Protein Recharge Treatment – such a plus for me! It totally breathes life back into my hair so it’s noticeable to all.

Another product I’ve loved using from the L’Oréal lineup is the Elvive Total Repair 5 Damage Erasing Balm ($5.99). It’s essentially a rinse out hair mask you use after shampooing – I massage it into my hair and leave it in for 3-5 minutes and rinse. I usually take the time to brush my teeth and exfoliate my face during this time. It’s super important to me to use a hair mask in some type of capacity (overnight or rinse out) because the power of a mask goes along way compared to other treatments. The Total Repair 5 Damage Erasing Balm really helps to improve the overall look and feel of my hair. If you experience split ends like I do, then this is your jam for sure. It also helps with dullness, roughness, weakness and dry hair.

If you want to take the L’Oréal hair diagnostic test to see what your level of hair damage is, then click here! Once you determine your damage of hair via the test, you’ll get tips on how to properly manage it.

You can purchase all the products I mentioned above in-store or online at Target. You can find more offers in-store at a hands-on event on February 24th. Only the top 500 Target stores will be participating, and you can find the store nearest to you here. The best time to visit is between 12-4pm!

L’Oreal also has a ton of other really great products that target really dry hair, like their Elvive Extraordinary Oil ($5.79) and their Elvive Color Vibrancy Repair and Protect Balm ($5.49) for hair that’s been color damaged. Whatever it is you need, make sure that you are investing in your hair care routine. A little goes along way!
